In the third quarter of 2024, the ACVIM Membership Committee, chaired by Dr. Logan Donaldson, focused its efforts on developing a veterinary specialty compensation and benefits benchmarking survey in partnership with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP), guided by the expertise of Dynamic Benchmarking. This steering committee reviewed survey questions to ensure the necessary data would be collected. The survey includes both required and optional questions and is expected to take a short amount of time to complete.

Compensation and benefits data collected via the survey will be aggregated and available for ACVIM and ABVP members to access via a dynamic reporting dashboard next year. Called the Specialty VetMed Compensation Compass, this dashboard will be the first of its kind for veterinary specialty medicine and will provide valuable insights on salary and overall compensation for the field.

The survey is expected to launch within the first quarter of 2025, with the dashboard becoming available after the data collection phase concludes.
