JVIM Article Publication Charges (APCs)

All articles accepted and published in the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine (JVIM) are fully Open Access: immediately free to read, download, and share. To cover the cost of publishing, the JVIM charges a publication fee, details below. The JVIM does not charge submission fees, figure charges, or page charges.

How to Determine Your APC

1. Corresponding Author Covered Under a Wiley Open Access Account (WOAA) for Full or Partial APC Coverage: Wiley might have a partnership with your institution or funder to cover or subsidize the APC for your article. Check your eligibility here. Authors who receive funding from an institution or funder with a WOAA, also known as a Wiley Open Access Agreement, will be eligible for a discount on the regular non-member APC of $2,000 USD. The charge is paid by the institution or funder. Please see Wiley’s information on agreements with funders and institutions and the Author Compliance Tool to find out more about what arrangements your institution or funder may have made to pay for Open Access. More details are available here. Society pricing cannot be combined with coverage from WOAAs.
   
   
2. Authors Eligible for Geographical Waivers or Discounts: Automatic APC waivers and discounts will be given to authors from countries on the Waivers and Discounts List. Authors should indicate that they are eligible for a waiver or discount during the submission of their article.
   
   
3. Authors Not Covered by Waivers or Discounts, or through an Open Access Agreement:

Regular Non-Member APC: $2,000 USD / £X GBP / €X EUR

Discounted Society Member APC for active ACVIM, ECEIM, ECVIM-CA and ECVN College Members: $1,460 USD / £X GBP / €X EUR

Subsidized Discounted Society Member APC for eligible active ECVN and ECVIM-CA College Members: $584 USD / £X GBP / €X EUR

Subsidized Discounted Society Member APC for eligible active ECEIM College Members: $490 USD / £X GBP / €X EUR

**ACVIM Candidates (at the time of submission) who are first or corresponding authors are eligible to request a one-time full waiver of the APC if no full subsidies are available from other sources. 

**ECEIM Candidates (at the time of submission) who are first authors are eligible to request a waiver of the APC.

Taxes on Publication Charges

The prices quoted do not include any value-added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST), or other sales taxes. Tax may be charged in addition to the price shown where required by law. The amount of tax charged will be calculated at the point of sale and identified separately. If you have a VAT, GST, or other sales tax identification number, you should provide this when requested.

Open Access Licensing and Copyright

JVIM is an Open Access journal: authors of accepted articles pay an APC, and their articles are published under a Creative Commons license. Authors have a choice of using the CC BY / CC BY-NC / CC BY-ND / CC BY-NC-ND Creative Commons License.
